4 GO annotations of cellular component

Name Definition
iron-sulfur cluster assembly complex A protein complex capable of assembling an iron-sulfur (Fe-S) cluster.
mitochondrial iron-sulfur cluster assembly complex A protein complex consisting of frataxin, cysteine desulfurase, an accessory protein and a Fe-S scaffold protein. In human these genes correspond to FXN, NFS1, ISD11 and ISCU respectively. This complex assembles Fe-S clusters onto the scaffolding protein using the substrates ferrous iron, electrons, and sulfur from l-cysteine.
mitochondrion A semiautonomous, self replicating organelle that occurs in varying numbers, shapes, and sizes in the cytoplasm of virtually all eukaryotic cells. It is notably the site of tissue respiration.
respirasome The protein complexes that form the electron transport system (the respiratory chain), associated with a cell membrane, usually the plasma membrane (in prokaryotes) or the inner mitochondrial membrane (on eukaryotes). The respiratory chain complexes transfer electrons from an electron donor to an electron acceptor and are associated with a proton pump to create a transmembrane electrochemical gradient.

2 GO annotations of molecular function

Name Definition
acyl binding Binding to an acyl group, any group formally derived by removal of the hydroxyl group from the acid function of a carboxylic acid.
acyl carrier activity Binding an acyl group and presenting it for processing or offloading to a cognate enzyme. Covalently binds the acyl group via a phosphopantetheine prosthetic group and mediates protein-protein interactions with the enzyme conferring specificity. The acyl carrier protein (ACP) presents substrates to enzymes involved in fatty acid biosynthesis or in polyketide secondary metabolite biosynthesis.

2 GO annotations of biological process

Name Definition
iron-sulfur cluster assembly The incorporation of iron and exogenous sulfur into a metallo-sulfur cluster.
lipoate biosynthetic process The chemical reactions and pathways resulting in the formation of lipoate, 1,2-dithiolane-3-pentanoate, the anion derived from lipoic acid.
